Group Description:
One of the goals of the team overall is to have rocket fly as close to an altitude of 1 mile as possible. To say the least, a return back to ground station from 1 mile without a functioning recovery system would be quite catastrophic. The Recovery and Avionics group is assigned the critical task of making sure that all of the team's hard work returns to us safe and unharmed. The avionics system includes the electronics which the recovery system depends on to function properly. Such an electronic component in the avionics suite is the altimeter which measures altitude and controls the ejection of the parachute. Such close dependancies as this are why these two areas are combined into the same group.
